Setup in two minutes

1. Install Checkout Guard. The free plan covers one active rule; no card is needed to try it.
2. On the Rules page press Create rule: pick the type (quantity per product, items in cart, cart value, weight, shipping country, must be logged in, products that can't be bought together), the limits, and which products it covers.
3. Write the message the customer sees when the rule stops them — in any language.
4. Open the Rule tester, build a cart, and check the exact message a buyer would get before they do.

FAQ

Can a customer get around a rule? No. The rule is evaluated by a Shopify Function inside Shopify's own checkout, so the cart page, the Ajax cart, a saved cart link and the Storefront API all hit the same wall.

Does it work on my plan? Yes — Shopify Functions run on every Shopify plan, including Basic.

Does it touch my theme? No code is added to your theme, and nothing is left behind when you uninstall.

What if Shopify can't run the rule? The checkout goes through. A rule never costs you a sale because of a fault on our side.

Why does my rule not fire? Open the rule tester: it runs the same engine on the same configuration that was pushed to Shopify, and tells you which rule matched. If the rule is off, or your plan's limit is reached, the tester says so.

Uninstalling removes the checkout rule immediately. Shopify then asks us to delete your data, which we do within 30 days.
